 Summer Fun and School Again

It seems like summer just started,

But August is already here.

Buying our pens and paper

Because back to school is near.

In June we went swimming

And enjoyed the longest day.

In July there were booming fireworks

And so many games to play.

For days we watched Olympic athletes

Playing sports new and old.

We dreamed of standing tall

With bronze, silver, or gold.

On the calendar the first day of school

Is marked with a smiling face.

Hot summer days slip away,

But good memories stay in place.

Don't be sad about school.

Wipe your tearful eyes.

Summer will sneak back up on you

Like a wonderful surprise.

The Magic of Spring

Every year it's a great surprise.

Just like magic before your eyes.

Buds and flowers decorate each tree. 

Green grass grows for all to see.

Days get longer as they always do.

More time outside for me and you.

Shimmering raindrops blanket the ground.

You twirl a bright umbrella around.

Just a light jacket will do the trick.

There's a new soccer ball to kick. 

Days are bright and friends are fun.

Warmer times at last.

Winter is in the past.

Plants need soil, water and even sun.

Planting a tiny seed in soil can be such fun.

Plants are important for the planet where we live.

Care for plants because they have so much to give.

The giant panda 

all black and white.

Forages for bamboo

All day and night.

China knows how special 

Their giant pandas are.

In many zoos this animal

Is the cutest star.

With their pigeon-tod gait

Giant pandas move on and on.

Processing tasty bamboo

Until every bit is gone.

Little pandas tumble and play.

They climb trees on their own.

The cub is cared for by its mother

Until time to live alone.

Pandas are rare animals 

And are protected with care.

We treasure the giant pandas

And are happy they are there.
